Well I thought I’d do yet another blog as I am becoming a little obsessed with doing them this week, so much so that I have created a big long list of things and features I feel the need to tell you about :)

I recently had the excitement of shooting all of our bridesmaids dresses and being involved in the whole process, stepping into a photographers world was quite daunting, we used Andy Cahill at Photoworks and I have never seen anything like it, this man knows his photography inside out what with being a commercial photographer for so many years. The shoot was done in a lovely old theatre using a couple of stunning models from London provided by Source Models, and a fabulous make up and hair stylist Frances Burns.

We used stunning hair flowers and hair pieces by Amanda Wyatt and Charlotte Balbier however we wanted something a little bit different for the vintage style, I managed to find a lovely girl through facebook who clearly knew her vintage hair pieces called Extra Special Touch and I fell in love with one of them.

One thing we wanted to do this year was increase our vast collection of bridesmaids dresses by introducing some new fabulous styles and what with vintage being so big at the moment we knew we had to be part of that success in some way. I am very lucky to know an outstanding designer in this field not to mention other fields, Leigh (as she likes to be called) never fails to impress us or her vast customer base, stunning ranges, she listens to the customers and implements exactly what they want and we feel very lucky to have ascertained exclusivity to the beautiful Grace design in a small polka dot fabric. So thanks Call Me Betty Vintage ;) If you’d like to join the on facebook here they are

We wanted to shoot all of our bridesmaids dresses in the very best way we could, we have always gone for just a frontal image but they were looking dated and tired so we knew we had to do something this year to recreate our bridesmaids dresses and showcase them beautifully so we listened to our customers and went ahead with producing 4 or 5 images of every dress, showing the front, back, a casual view and of course close ups of any detailing that they may have. The shoot took two days but my god was it worth it.

Lets show you the vintage style bridesmaids dresses first of all, a new avenue of stunning colours and I am sure you will agree they are just fabulous.

The dresses are a beautiful polka dot vintage style swing dress, the dress has little cap sleeves, it has a full circle skirt, a curved bust seam with contrast piping and fullness into the seam. The dress has a detachable bow brooch at the front, it has a zip fastening at the back, It is boned for an extra flattering nipped in waist and lined to the waist. Now for the colours.

So there you have the beautiful pieces, I am sure you will agree that the photos are fabulous. Lets not forget also that these dresses are just as fabulous to wear out for an evening, hen parties, vintage theme events, cruises, proms and allsorts. We love them so thank you Leigh !!!!

If however you decide that these dresses are not quite for you then we have a stunning collection of bridesmaids dresses featuring an amazing range of colours sure to suit your colour scheme and in a large variation of styles.

Oh and if you are wondering which shoes were used for the shoot, we used Charlize By Benjamin Adams and Tease By Pink By Paradox

Well we’re very excited to be introducing a very new concept to our online businesses, so what did we want to acheive? well we have been doing 360 degree rotational images to show customer the full view of a shoe but its clear that images and rotational images can only show so much not to mention the web is bombarded with those who do the same :(

We want to show you the fine detailing of our favourite wedding shoes so after much deliberation over cost and how this can be acheived, we have now given it the go ahead for the beautiful Benjamin Adams collection and will be rolling this out for Pink By Paradox & Belle.

Why choose the Benjamin Adams collection and other collections from Paradox London you ask? Because its our favourite brand of course, don’t get me wrong we are extremely proud of all our collections otherwise we wouldn’t sell them but theres just something special about this brand and heres why.

Whats the most important thing apart from design for a bride to be? comfort of course and let me tell you this brand excels in this area, cushioned insoles with soft padding, soft satin and silk fabrics, a variety of heel heights some of which you wouldn’t believe were comfortable due to their high heel but trust me they are. I’m a sucker for grabbing one of them every now and then and having them dyed for a night out.

In fact as embarrasing as this seems this blog has come about as I am having a well deserved day off from promoting products, discussing new video concepts and implementing them, discussing new projects, thinking of more products to wow you with so here I am wearing my beautiful Charlize Wedding Shoes which Paradox kindly dyed midnight blue for me (they’re not dyeable by the way but I managed to persuade them to do it for me, i think it took a few coats but here they are on my feet sparkling away plus I have been listening to my favourite tunes dancing around the lounge like a nutter but thats my point, they are so comfortable you can walk, dance and jump around in them. My favourite shoe at the moment by far.

I hope this gives you an insight into why I have chosen to introduce the new revolutionary video concept for the Paradox London collection and I very much hope to have at least 20 styles to showcase by the end of this month, excited moi? but to give you a sneaky peak, heres a link to the beautiful Lana wedding shoes which were shot for a trial, yes a few tweaks needed but we’re definitly rolling with it :) By the way Lana is a discontinued shoe unfortunately but we do have sufficient stocks at the moment to supply most sizes if this video makes you want them.

I’m sure you’ll all agree this is going to be worth it, lets be different from the rest although I am already planning my next move, catwalk, models, shoes, videos, photos, location arggghhhhhhhh.

We’ve ascertained Platinum Stockist for the Paradox London brand for over 5 years now and will continue to promote them as our favourite brand for the near future.

So here we are sneaky peak at the new concept, enjoy.

Maybe it should be renamed?  I mean after all it sounds awful doesn’t it? You’ve paid all that money to have the gown of your dreams only to consider potentially ruining it completely for another photo shoot, in fact that couldn’t be further than the truth.

My husband and I this year for our 6th year anniversary, we have been together 17 mind you !  decided that we wanted to do something different and yes I was more than happy to trash the dress, I mean its been stuck up in the loft looking lonely in a box since our wedding in cyprus.  I wanted to remember our wonderful wedding day but wanted to do something different, I think I was more concerned that i wouldn’t fit in it anymore as opposed to wrecking it.

So our chosen photographer was the wonderful and assuring Catherine from Lily & Frank Photography who has completed various photoshoots of our daughter since birth, we love her work, her attention to detail, the calmness whilst she is shooting and just her relaxed mannerisms to make everyone feel at ease.

So after much deliberation and my own personal obsession withprison dramas we thought we wouldn’t go for the traditional theme of walking through the woods, getting in a lake, walking round some gardens, no that was far too boring for us so what does my husband suggest? “Bodmin Jail“, yes you heard it right!

So we approached Catherine with the idea and she was thrilled, excited and shocked that we would choose such a venue but we knew she would love the beauty of it once she got there.  We wanted to make a day of it so Catherine found a retro caravan park to go afterwards and then we thought weather permitted we would hit the beach.

We then got onto contacting Bodmin Jail who very kindly agreed to let us shoot there for a small donation of which we were more than happy to contribute to keep that beautiful pile of rubble going after all (the managers comments not ours) :)

So the night before it does feel like we’re getting married again, we’re talking about our actual day drinking some champers and wondering how the hell we are going to become models for the day, how will we pose? god what have we done?

The day arrives……………

So without boring you with all the ins and outs of the shoot, lets show you some of Catherines favourites from each element of the day.

Now by the end of the day my dress was dirty, filthy and yes maybe i was a tad concerned but now its sitting back where it belongs in a box beautifully clean.

I suppose what we’re saying is maybe it should be called something other like “Cherish The Dress” as there is absolutely no need to ruin it but you can still have fun and enjoy the day whilst ending up with a cracking range of photographs. We personally would recommend the photo shoot to all and in particular with Lily & Frank, they don’t just do “Cherish The Dress” shoots, they do photographs of little ones, commerical photography and of course all things Weddings.

Oh and incase you’re wondering where I got my shoes, i decided as i was technically getting married again for the day I would invest in a new pair and chose the wonderful Swarvoski Charlize Wedding Shoes By Benjamin Adams.

Another “thumbs up” supplier recommendation from us :)
