First up a rather exciting pic!

Sorry for the extremely delayed blog, in fact I think it was ages ago when I completed another one, a lot has been happening for us here lately, as most of you know we launched the first wedding shoe and accessory showroom of its kind here in the South West in August 2011, well we didn’t really anticipate the level of interest in our concept, we certainly did not want it to have that traditional bridal feel so went all out in creating that something special.

Well in January this year I had a lovely meeting with the delightful Charlotte Balbier as I felt that we really could be offering that one stop shop if we offered wedding gowns as well, it is extremely important to me that I only sell brands that I feel represent the bridal industry beautifully which is why you do not see us selling every so called bridal shoe brand in the market. I adore Charlotte’s wedding gowns but wanted to see them in the flesh and of course meet the designer in person.

During this meeting we decided to take the plunge and throw ourselves into the gown field but again what sets us aside to others is that we are focusing our expertise within the field on just one brand and one to be proud of. Charlotte’s gowns are the epitome of bridal excellence, beautiful fabrics, lace being a huge emphasis on the collection and of course a favourable price point we feel.

During this meeting I then made the decision that it would be time to move premises, we’ve gone from a small box room in our 8 years to three large units but I felt they were lacking that professional touch somewhat so much to my husbands dismay I started looking for something new, not to mention I wanted everything in one place. The thought of recreating our showroom on a larger scale filled my husband with dread I think but I knew it was imperative for the future of the business and I can’t see me stopping here either I also felt it was important to showcase the beauty of the gowns and accessories fully with space for our customers to enjoy the surroundings that we offer (or any excuse to buy a few more chandeliers some might say).

So for the last couple of months, we’ve been planning, relaunching and looking to the future which is why I have been so quiet but I am delighted to give you a sneaky peak of what myself and my wonderful interior designer have created of which we are sure you will agree is a real haven for our brides to be and the bridal party.

Also we are officially having a launch part on the 19th May from 2.00pm – 7.00 for the public, brides to be and our families to come and see the showroom, we will then be inviting all of our wonderful suppliers down to see what we have come up with.

Hello, its been a long time since I have updated my blog but I felt the need to discuss and elaborate on this subject thats been on my mind for a while and particularly since the launch of Her Best Kept Secret (ssssshhhhhh exactly)

Well I suppose this is the question on everyones lips, is it really cost effective to have your wedding shoes dyed? Well primarily yes the process is amazing because this ensures that you can choose from literally thousands of wedding shoes and have them dyed to match your wedding theme perfectly. Many wedding shoe brands including Rainbow Club and Paradox London offer this facility which is just perfect for the whole bridal party, bridesmaids can have shoes perfectly co-ordinating the dresses and flowergirls can also match.

One thing I will say is this service generally is extremely popular with the Mother Of The Bride but is it really affordable? generally suppliers who offer a dyeing service charge around £30.00 to complete this process and even then they are not colourfast and it is recommended that the consumer scotchguards them otherwise if you do have the unfortunate rain spell on your day your wedding shoes could potentially end up with drip marks as they are not colourfast, meaning after the event you may want them done againand you can only dye shoes darker than their original colour so yes I’ll ask the question again, is it really affordable?

As an avid reader of all the popular wedding magazines including Perfect Wedding and Wedding Ideas and a huge fan of wedding blogs such as Love My Dress and Rock N Roll Bride, it seems apparant to me that brides are embracing the colour phenomenon and choosing vibrant wedding shoes even with stripes / spots and all other pretty designs that gives their wedding theme a particular edge and can be worn time and time again, although of course the dyeing process means simple ivory shoes can be transformed into colours of your choice to wear for anniversaries and so on.

I think it is clear that there is a definite market for coloured wedding shoes, purposely made in those traditional and more elaborate colours that are affordable and eliminate the dyeing process so let me introduce my latest find “Her Best Kept Secret”, the focus of this brand is definitly colours, a few styles but loads of colour choices with more being introduced every season. Her Best Kept Secret was launched purely to eliminate the dyeing process making this brand an extremely popular choice for the whole bridal party.

I love this group shot of the Rosebud Wedding Shoes, a simple classical design incorporating a beautiful hidden platform and just look at those colours ! Personally I adore the Coral for a summer wedding, the sun shining, a beach wedding, an ivory wedding gown and coral shoes, I think this would look particularly fetching.

So yes personally I feel the coloured wedding shoe phenomenon is a huge element to this industry so well done to Her Best Kept Secret.

Yes the title is correct, we are finally taking the plunge after 7 years, we have set a big budget for 2012 to enable us to participate in various events including the fabulous Olympia Wedding Show on the 24th – 26th February 2012. We didn’t want a small stand that we could only fit a few wedding shoes in, if we had our way we would have taken our whole showroom however the cost of space to fit our wonderful centrepiece escalated slightly however fear not we have another exciting concept up our sleeve to display our beautiful wedding shoes and bridesmaid dresses

We have also decided to commit to this event year on year as the UK’s leading and trusted wedding shoe and accessory supplier on line, we’re a family business, we care about your wedding and we feel it is important that our name supports these wonderful events of which has no fewer than 16,000 visitors over the three days (i forsee 4 very knackered ladies).

So what will we be showcasing, will the brides be able to try things on? I know these are all questions you will be asking so lets get down to what you can expect from Girls Of Elegance and their team this year.

1. No less than 125 or 150 styles of wedding shoes on the day.

2. Every bridesmaids dress style along with colour swatches and photographs of our own models wearing every colour so you can touch and feel every fabric and colour.

3. Accessories, stunning exclusive tiaras and jewellery (a small selection)

4. 4 very friendly members of staff (including myself or should I say the boss)

5. A favourable promotion over the event.

6. Our returns and exchange policy will still stand after the event.

7. We will try our very best to bring a size pack for each wedding shoe brand so even though we may not have the shoe in your size to try we will have another shoe in the brands sizing which should give you a correct indication of fit.

Now onto the next question – which wedding shoe brands will you be promoting?

We’re going to try our very best to bring all of the brands that we supply however to give you an indication of which brands will definitly be showcased, here they are and an overview of them and why we have chosen them.

Else – Another offering from the wonderful Rainbow Club, a small affordable collection made from the softest satin, very popular styles within this small collection, yes we will be bringing every single one!

Pink By Paradox – One of the largest selections that we sell, Pink has been a key seller for our brides for the last 7 years, we started with Pink by Paradox London in 2004 and are now considered one of their very best customers. We adore this brand for fine lines, attention to detail, comfort and affordability, will we be bringing them all? YES

Belle – A stunning silk mid budget range of wedding shoes, beautifully classy and comfortable to wear, Belle was a new brand a few years ago and its popularity is growing quickly. Shall I say it again? Yes we will be bringing all of them.

Benjamin Adams – Cue squeals of excitements for those of you reading this, the beautiful, stunning, sparkly Benjamin Adams wedding shoes are just the epitome of the bridal industry, many awards have been received, many brides want to wear them and yes I shall be wearing my Charlize on one of the days without fail. They are my favourite, they will be taking centre stage within our (secret) display and you brides will be forming an orderly queue to purchase them Oh and before we forget we will definitly be showcasing every Benjamin Adams wedding shoe for you.

Meadows – We’ll be bringing a small selection of the most popular styles from this collection.

Rainbow Couture – We will be bringing all of this wonderful small couture collection of wedding shoes.

Now onto what we feel will be a very exciting stage for us at GOE, we’ve sold wedding shoes for over 7 years now, we pretty much know our brands inside and out and most importantly after speaking to over 50,000 brides since our launch we feel we understand what brides are looking for, the requirements for wedding shoes are now so diverse, some brides want nothing fussy just something plain, some brides want full on bling either way there is room in the industry for a huge range of styles and of course more brands who care.

February 2012 will see the launch of our own small collection of wedding shoes which after 6 months of designing we’re finally underway with their production, Whats the brand going to be called we hear you cry? We decided upon the names “Era Bridal” and “Era Boutique” and we love it !!!! (no links yet as it is a surprise you see) Why did we decide upon those names? Personally I have a mini fascination with all things from previous eras, I love to sit with my grandparents and hear all about their weddings in the 1920′s, what the trends were (wedges if you are interested) what the brides wore not to mention my fascination with their lives in general.

I don’t think I am the only person to love sitting with their grandparents hearing their stories so we felt that although eras may be gone, they certainly should not be forgotten, our range of wedding shoes will be focusing on the eras however putting our very own up to date modern twist on them. The Era Bridal range will be extremely affordable for those budget savvy brides and Era Boutique will feature more “bling” in the form of estonian swarovski. I’m not saying anymore except we cannot wait to show you our shoes, if ours are not for you, we have no doubt that one of the other fabulous brands that we sell and continue to support 200% will be.

Hello everybody, back again blogging my way through the afternoon as I do have some fairly exciting news (I think), we’re in our 8th year of trading in beautiful wedding shoes and accessories and finally after all these years we have listened to the constant stream of customers asking us “can we come and visit you” and taken the plunge and created the only Southern Wedding Accessory showroom

One thing we have always been informed during streams of market research is that there really are no places you can go and look at a large collection of wedding shoes, bridal shops tend to focus on purely the wedding dress itself with very few styles of wedding shoes available to view so voila we have completed the task and we are thrilled to be offering this exciting and new dynamic concept to the Girls Of Elegance brand.
